About Michael Ford I am a licensed aesthetician, licensed massage therapist and hold a diploma in aromatherapy, and I combine clinical and technological approaches with a holistic approach and techniques. I tend to stress education and consultation in my sessions. Skin care or a quiet mind does not need to be mysterious or bewilderingly technical, I can offer simple techniques to rejuvenate your skin and body and nourish your spirit. I have carefully designed my licensed home studio to combine colors, lighting, sounds and scents to create a place of safety and peace in which you can recharge both mind and body.
Education In 1997 I attended the Southeast School of Botanic Medicine in Mississippi to complete an apprenticeship program in traditional herbalism. Then in early 2000, I became licensed for massage therapy after training at the New Orleans location of Blue Cliff College. After several years of working in a local spa as a massage therapist, my budding passion for the technical aspects of skin care began to bloom. Naturally, I dove deeper into studying skin care independently.
Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, I moved to Arizona where I attended Artistic Beauty College - Regis and became a licensed aesthetician in 2006. After returning home to Louisiana, I completed a three-year course through Australasian College of Health Science, receiving my master aromatherapist diploma in 2008.
I am currently enrolled in a post-graduate certification program from the International Dermal Institute.
